We are engaged in conservation all the time. Here are some of the highlights of that important work. This Red Squirrel was photographed on our farm in 2014. They bred successfully in our woods that year also.
One of the first things that was done after purchasing the land was the excavation of Sunnyside Pond.
31 March 2017. The first swallow of the year appeared on Corrin Nature Reserve today.

Today a clutch of 3 young Kestrel hawks came out of their nest in our woods. These can be seen and heard screeching every day now as they wait for feeding from their parents who hunt mice and shrews in our game crops.
01 July 2014
Today I saw 2 young yellowhammers around our partridge pens. Good to see that they bred successfully again this year.

Some of the 10 wild ducks made their first flight today at 8 weeks old making a complete circle of the pond and coming back again. They had been flying out of the pen for the last few days so we opened it and released them into the pond. They are fully released now and will have to take their chance in the wild. One was taken by a fox during the week but this is nature and happens all the time. Another is also missing but may have flown away and got lost.
8 out of 10 surviving a week after release is very good. If we did not get them when we did and rear them, they would all be dead now. Their chances of survival are very good now as they can fly well and are staying on the island by night.
