The Bride Biodiversity Mix will be replaced this year  with a NEW long term headland mixture that will last for up to 10 years  with a little  bit of management every spring.  The reason is to satisfy customer demands for a long term mixture that will provide flowers, seed, nesting cover and winter protection. It wil be expensive as it wil contain wildflowers and we will be aiming to have many species that are  native to Ireland in the mix. The Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust advise the use of  similiar mixes for their Grey partridge conservation projects and swear by them.

Unfortunately the suppliers packed  this  batch in 20 kg bags instead of the usual 22kgs. I was not informed of this  at all until I discovered  it after taking delivery. I had said at the start of the season  that I would  be keeping my prices as they have been since the  beginning of the scheme  but as it happened   this  batch also went considerably up in price and so rather than increasing the price to my customers I have left it at €40.00/bag ex Rathcormac. My pre-printed invoices  state 22kgs per bag so I have to  leave the invoice as it is.

The second point with this batch is that they ran out of triticale and used  wheat instead as the cereal element in the mix.  I hope this does not cause you any inconvenience but  both issues are  of my control.
