John’s Delight Game Crop Mix is popular all over Ireland, north and south.
It is one of the best and most colourful game crop seed mixes available in this country, and provides seed for game all through the winter. Some gun club county bodies buy this game crop mix in bulk at the start of the spring and sell it to their clubs at a subsidised price. This eliminates paperwork for clubs and makes life easier for everyone, but individual purchases are also welcome.
Each one-acre bag will provide about one tonne of seed for game all through the winter.
For brood rearing. John’s Delight can be sown in early October and will provide an ideal pheasant nesting and brood rearing habitat in May with an abundance of insect life at that time of year. Available in one acre bags of 23kgs.
The game crop mix sowing rate is 23kgs/.40Ha (1 Bag/acre) and the mix is best sown in late April If conditions are not good, then sowing can be delayed until early June but the triticale seed will not ripen with late sowing.
